I've had this (unused-NIP) for probably 30 years.

Does anyone know what type of connector is on the battery-end of the harness? I've never seen anything like it.

What's under the plastic/rubber caps? It actually looks like a low pressure gas dispenser, LoL! Crazy looking rig!

Under the red rubber cap is basically what's shown in the instructions. A "notched-hook" that grabs the plugs' center electrode. When the plunger is released; the clips' outer housing completes the circuit.

Does the tapered one come off? I'm sorry, I am terrible ble about judging scale... that end won't take a standard glowplug clip/socket on an igniter, will it?

Here's what the "inside" looks like.. (under the red rubber cap)

It looks broken roddie. Redundant - why a connector on a connector? I must be missing something. Just used mine the other day.

At first I thought it was broken, too. After a closer look, Roddie is depressing the hollow pin inside the inner cylinder to expose the end of it. The "half moon" catches the glow head's knobbed center electrical conducting pin, when it is pulled inside the inner cylinder, locking it firmly.

I suspect the target buyer for Roddie's vintage 1/2A clip is the guy that has a big plane with the typical 1.2V glow plug ignitor. That is, not the guy with a power panel and glow clip.

He's the guy that will bring his big plane along and tote his 1/2A plane for a little bit of fun. In this way, he doesn't have to carry extra support stuff for his "puny toy."
